The Oregon State Beavers will battle the University of Southern California Trojans on Sept. 25 to determine bowl eligibility. OSU is currently third in the Pac-12 North, while USC is first in the Pac-12 South. The Beavers only need to achieve 4-5 in their conference to qualify for the bowl, a feat that is anticipated after an impressive season thus far.
On Saturday, OSU clobbered Idaho with a 42-0 victory, with quarterback Chance Nolan completing 14 out of his 19 attempted passes, gaining 175 yards that resulted in three touchdowns. OSU completed 248 yards in total. Additionally, OSU’s strong defense prevented Idaho from even scoring one touchdown. The Beavers also completed 438 yards, compared to Idaho’s minuscule 192.
OSU receiver and Sprague graduate Teagan Quitoriano caught three out of 11 throws, gaining the Beavers 14 yards.
OSU’s single defeat on Sept. 4 was still well played as the two teams remained neck-and-neck until the fourth quarter when Purdue scored two touchdowns.
OSU’s head coach, Jonathon Smith, has led the team since November of 2017, with this season looking by far his brightest.
OSU will play USC this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the United Airlines field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
