Class offerings continue to grow at The Arts Center, or TAC, and for this month, add a Poetry night to the mix too. For exhibits this month, it’s Ohio artist Steve Ehret in the Main Gallery with Resting my Bones, and Ann Chadwick Reid in the Corrine Woodman Gallery with Habitat. Both are absolutely worth your time.
Here’s all the details for what’s happening at TAC over the next month…
Main Gallery: Resting My Bones, Steve Ehret
With Resting My Bones, Ohio artist Steve Ehret explores intimate struggles with death, separation, and fatherhood. Ehret’s paintings and drawings magnify the beauty of the mundane through imagined landscapes inspired by the industrial Midwest. Ehret presents creatures and personified emotions who distract and impeach his personal growth while continually embracing the humor, beauty, and magic found in everyday life.
The mural Ehret painted for the opening reception is on display, and portions of it will be donated to Jackson Street Youth Services in May. Click here for more information.
- March 20 – May 3, 2025
Corrine Woodman Gallery: Habitat, Ann Chadwick Reid
Ann Chadwick Reid’s cut paper artwork is as fragile as the environment and intended to address the impact of human activities on whole ecosystems, as well as individual species, with a challenge for communities to initiate and support conversations that lead to just cooperation and sustainable solutions.
Reid’s exhibition, Habitat, is an effort to share with viewers the complexity and beauty of a single ecosystem, the Garry Oak (Quercus garryana) habitat which is sometimes defined as a meadow, prairie, grassland or woodland landscape. The remarkable diversity of species that are found in this environment reflect it’s enormous value to the region. For more information, click here.
