The Corvallis School District is seeking folks willing to help shape our fair burgh’s future leaders. They’ve announced this year’s Benton County Career Convention, and as always they are seeking an assist from the community at-large. It’s a valuable event tailored for our town’s 11th graders – and volunteering for this annual event is always fun.
Set to take place on March 4, 2025, at Oregon State University, the convention aims to provide students with real-world insights and experiential learning opportunities.
The roles the district is seeking to fill include:
- Mock Interviewers: Help students hone their interview skills by participating in mock interviews.
- Career Panel Participants: Share your professional journey and insights on a career panel.
- Event Support: Assist in checking in and directing students to ensure a smooth and organized experience.
- Community Partners: Be a valuable community partner by sharing services, internship opportunities, or information on summer employment.
Volunteers can express their interest by filling out this online interest form. Please note that all volunteers are required to complete the Corvallis School District volunteer application.
District spokesperson Kelly Locey says that when volunteers contribute their time and expertise, they become a crucial part of creating an engaging learning environment.
And who knows, the conversation you have with today’s 11th grader may influence a decades-long career course.
