The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition has announced plans for their Annual Meeting this year, and as usual, the public is encouraged to attend the gathering of partner organizations and volunteers.
The meeting will feature presentations highlighting the Coalition’s accomplishments from last year, and their plans for the next – these are set to include:
- Creek and wetland regeneration at Bald Hill Natural Area, Dr. MLK Jr. Park, Starker Arts Park, and 9 additional sites
- Shift Together to provide resources and funding to support everyone in our community as we make the transition to energy efficiency and renewable energy
- Solarize Corvallis to help schools, nonprofits, and businesses make the transition to solar energy
- No Food Left Behind Corvallis to address the environmental, social, and economic impacts ofwasted food
As in past years, the Coalition’s Annual Meeting sponsor is First Alternative Natural Foods Co-op, which will provide delicious “happy hour” snacks.
All of the work done by the Coalition’s action teams in 2024 focused on projects that advance environmental quality, social equity, or economic vitality. The twelve action teams cover the following areas: Community Inclusion, Economic Vitality, Education, Energy, Food, Health and Human Services, Housing, Land Use, Natural Areas, Transportation, Waste Prevention, and Water.
