South Corvallis Food Hub Community Meeting. 12 p.m. Tunison Community Room, 365 SW Tunison, Corvallis. The City of Corvallis and Benton County are moving forward with plans for a food hub in South Corvallis! As part of the strategic planning process, the City will be seeking bids from firms interested in serving as operator of the new food hub concept. The operator will develop and manage the day-to-day activities associated with the food hub, and will serve as the primary point of contact for food providers who might utilize the hub concept. The community can learn more about the forthcoming request for proposals (RFP) at an upcoming public meeting scheduled for 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 23 at the Tunison Meeting Room, 365 SW Tunison. City of Corvallis Goal Development Consultation Meeting. 1 p.m. Public Works Transportation Conference Room, Public Works Offices, 1245 NE 3rd St PO Box 1083, Corvallis. The City of Corvallis, owner of Corvallis Municipal Airport is establishing a new overall goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation in its Federally funded Capital Improvement Projects scheduled in federal fiscal years (FY) 2024-2026.  This includes consultation with general contractor groups, community organizations, and other officials or organizations which could be expected to have information concerning the availability of disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged businesses, the effects of discrimination on opportunities for DBEs, and assist the Airport’s efforts to establish a level playing field for the participation of DBEs. Benton County: 2024 Drug Take Back Event. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Parking Lot of Kalapuya Building, 4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. This event allows the public to safely dispose of expired or unused medications. This is a one-day, drive-thru event at 4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis. Those interested in dropping off at this location are asked to enter the parking lot off Research Way and follow the signs and directions of the volunteers. Some restrictions apply: NO needles, sharps, injectables, epi-pens, IV solutions, etc. NO medical waste. NO illegal drugs. Individual households only. Sorry, businesses not allowed.
