Our very own Corvallis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ryan Noss is now in the running for National Superintendent of the Year through the American Association of School Administrators. Last week, it was announced he had been selected as Oregon’s 2024-25 Superintendent of the Year by The Oregon Association of School Executives and the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators.
“Dr. Noss was nominated by his Executive Team for his commitment to improving outcomes for students and for his deep involvement in the community. Notably, Dr. Noss steered the passage of a capital construction bond in 2018, bringing updated elementary school buildings and modernized CTE opportunities for secondary school students. In 2019, he championed the creation of a school-based mental health program, which proved crucial in navigating the pandemic. This program, initially small, has grown significantly, now supporting students across all grade levels and providing essential mental health services during a challenging time. Dr. Noss’s hands-on involvement in the design and oversight of these projects underscores his commitment to improving educational spaces and opportunities for students,” according to a releasee from the two statewide industry associations.
Noss said, “”I am deeply honored to be recognized as the 2024-25 Oregon Superintendent of the Year,” and, “I am proud to work in public education. It is the bedrock of our democracy. I am also proud to work alongside so many dedicated educators who recognize that schools are the one place where all members of our society come together to learn from one another and to honor the identity and rightful presence of our students. I’m grateful for the chance to lead in a way that makes a meaningful impact and creates opportunities for all our students to succeed.”
