Corvallis Schools Summer Programs, Local Donations Help with Nixed State Funding

The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation has announced it is awarding $165,000 to the Corvallis School District in support of its summer programming initiatives. This funding will help ensure that more than 600 students have access to crucial educational opportunities and support services during the summer, despite the absence of any state funding.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Foundation’s support,” said Ryan Noss, Superintendent of Corvallis School District. “These funds are a game-changer for our students and will make a tremendous difference in their lives. Not only will we continue to offer high school credit recovery, math transition courses for students entering middle and high school, and a variety of other programs that help our students thrive – we are set to serve more than twice as many students as last year and this would not be possible without the support of the Foundation and this community.”

A generous $50,000 grant from the Sissel Family Impact Fund served as a catalyst for this year’s fundraising success. The generous gift inspired many others to give, leveraging the Foundation’s ability to double its impact from last summer.

“We are committed to improving educational opportunities and experiences for those in need of additional support,” said the Sissels. “We believe in the power of education and the importance of supporting our local schools, and are thrilled to see the positive impact it will have on so many students.”

The Foundation’s Executive Director, Angela Hibbard, highlighted the importance of community involvement: “This year, our community came together in an unprecedented way. Thanks to generous support from donors like the Sissels and many others, including our incredible sponsors, we can fund essential summer programs that will help our students succeed. We couldn’t have done it without the generosity of our supporters.”
