New fines for expired meters and overtime zone parking go into effect on April 1. In general, fines are increasing from $15 to $25 for these parking violations.
In addition, vehicles are now required to have current registration and plates mounted on vehicles. Vehicles that are cited more than 10 days in a single month are subject to being impounded.
These new regulations are intended to help balance demand for parking in metered and zoned areas, and to give City of Corvallis Police Department some more tools in their toolbox for dealing with abandoned vehicles (and vehicles that appear to be abandoned because their owners aren’t responding to attempts at reaching them).
