The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for various regions in Oregon including Benton County, effective December 4 at 4:11 a.m. The Flood Watch is set to expire on December 7 at 4:00 a.m.
The affected areas include:
- Cascade Foothills in Lane County
- Central Coast Range of Western Oregon
- Central Oregon Coast
- Central Willamette Valley
- Coast Range of Northwest Oregon
- Greater Portland Metro Area
- Lower Columbia
- North Oregon Coast
- Northern Oregon Cascade Foothills
- South Willamette Valley
Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions. The Flood Watch indicates the potential for flooding in these regions due to anticipated weather conditions. Benton County is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed.
Sand bag locations

1. Benton County Public Works: 360 S.W. Avery Avenue, Corvallis (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday)
- Community members must check in with Public Works and/or call in advance.
- The sand pile is in the southwest corner of the complex, next to the Sheriff’s impound yard.
- There are empty sandbags and a filling station/frame there.
- Additional bags can be found in the barn next to the sign shop if there are none at the station.
- Community members may ask for empty bags to be filled at another location.
- Shovels are not provided. Please bring your shovel.
- Sand can also be found at several locations in Corvallis and around the County.
2. Benton County Fairgrounds: 110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis.
- Shovels are not provided. Please bring your shovel.
3. Knife River: 28602 Highway 34, out in front of the main gate.

- Cheldelin Middle School: 987 NE Conifer Boulevard, west parking lot.
- Grant Avenue Baptist Church: 1625 NW Grant Avenue, back parking lot off of 17th Street.
- Willamette Park: next to community gardens.

1. Philomath Public Works: 1515 Willow Lane
- After hours filling is permitted at this location.
- Shovels are not provided. Please bring your own shovel.
