Samaritan, Art Center Look for Photographs from Vets

If you’re a U.S. veteran and have an eye for great photos, you’re in luck. Good Samaritan Health Services is looking for veterans with an artistic bent to send their photographs in for an exhibit called Through a Veteran’s Lens.

Samaritan wants to emphasize the therapeutic nature and strength of creating and sharing artistic works. Additionally, they want to give veterans the opportunity to show work reflecting their own experiences and perspectives that best represent a personal experience of serving the country in the military.

The Arts Center and Samaritan especially encourage veterans who may have felt excluded, particularly those from rural communities, from communities of color, and from the LGBTQ+ community. Regardless of whether you are self-taught or new to creating artwork, you are also welcome to submit.

All veterans living in Linn, Benton, and Lane counties are welcome to participate. To submit a photo, fill out this submission form provided, and email the form and up to four photos to by Tuesday, May 31.

All images submitted will be included in the exhibition. One photograph from each person submitting will be professionally mounted and displayed at The Arts Center’s Through a Veteran’s Lens exhibit from September 30 to November 12, 2022.

The Arts Center’s Public Programs are supported by Oregon Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, City of Corvallis Parks & Recreation, and through member, donor, and The Arts Center Endowment Fund support.
