For Peak Sports, It’s All About the Dogs

Starting August 25, local sporting goods company Peak Sports will be working with Heartland Humane for their new event – Adventures With Dogs. With an adoption event, contests, dog clinics, exclusive discounts, and stickers, this inaugural dog-friendly weekend is meant to inspire all dog-lovers to come and play – although rolling over and sitting are also options.

The Contests

There are four contests that will run from August 25 to August 28 and offer fun prizes for all.

The Coloring Contest: If your kids love to color, come on over to Peak Sports for free Adventures With Dogs coloring pages. Drop off finished pages by Sunday, August 28, when the winning young artist will earn a sweet bundle of a prize.

The Photo Contest: If you’re one of those people who love to take photos of your dog, enter the “Dogs in the Outdoors” photo contest for a chance to win a collapsible food and water bowl made by Ruffwear. Just post your fave photo of Fido doing outdoorsy stuff and include #PeakSportsPups. The winning picture will be chosen on August 28.

The Where’s Charlie Contest: If you know the outdoors, then this is the contest for you! Guess where Charlie, Peak Sports’ adventure dog extraordinaire, is in a photo. If you guess correctly, you could win a great prize from Ruffwear, Chaco, and Niteize.

The Spin the Wheel Contest: All weekend, you can spin the Wheel of Pup Prizes to win entries for drawings or to claim fun and/or delicious treats for the puppy. Tennis balls! Harnesses! Pup cones! It’s all waiting to be won.

The Events

The Adventures With Dog event isn’t just about winning things. There will be several opportunities to learn about ways to care for your pet while you’re outdoors.

On Friday, August 26, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Peak Sports is offering an interactive lesson on first aid for your dog. You’ll learn your puppy’s baselines, how to spot and treat injuries, and how to prep a first aid kit specifically for your pooch. Take the worry out of your outdoor adventures with a little more knowledge about canine care. You can register here.

Saturday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. to noon is Heartland Adoption Day. If you really want a cute little guy or gal to take your hikes with, here’s your chance to maybe meet them. While you’re there, learn more about how a little doggie dude can improve your outside time as well as your home life. Learn more about Heartland here

Once you’re done finding the new love of your life at Heartland, pop back over to Peak Sports for the Wonder Dogs Paddleboarding Workshop. From 12:30-1:30 p.m., you can discover a better way to “doggie paddle” – on a board! Wonder Dogs Training will be teaching the finer points of getting your dog out on the water for your next paddleboarding trip. Learn more about Wonder Dogs here.

The Vendors

Throughout Saturday, you can drop into Peak Sports with your doggo for product demos by Ruffwear and special treats from Penny Bites.

Come on by Peak Sports throughout August 25-28 and see what’s happening! And remember, you don’t have to leave the dog at home.
