Corvallis Transit Needs a Few Hands

In recent days, the Corvallis Transit System (CTS) has been seeing an uptick in vandalism to its bus shelters in the form of glass panels being broken. Over one dozen glass panels have been shattered of late.

It’s something that’s been happening in other counties as well – notably Multnomah County where the glass surrounding TriMet buses keeps being shattered overnight.

CTS is asking for help from Corvallisites living near bus stops. If you have a doorbell camera or security video system and are able to aim it toward a bus stop, the city would appreciate the extra “eyes” on the case.

If you see something – in person or on your video, please contact the Corvallis Police Department at their non-emergency number 541-766-6824. If you see other suspicious behavior, call CPD Dispatch at 541-766-6911.

CTS is also still in need of more drivers – an issue that’s been around since last year. If you or someone you know have a class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and passenger endorsements, and are interested in driving for CTS, please call MTR Western at 541-766-6998.
