Corvallis Governing 101

It is time to start looking toward the November elections. This year, not only will we see nine City Council positions on the ballot, but we will also elect a new Mayor.

On Monday, July 25, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., the City of Corvallis will be holding an informational session about how local government works which will include packets for those interested in running for a local seat.

The event is not a debate. It will not explain how to campaign for office, but rather what to expect if you were to be elected into a position such as Mayor or City Councilmember.

Other topics will include how our local government is structured, what the roles of Mayor or Council would include, the election process, and which documents and resources a potential candidate will need.

This meeting will be held in-person at 500 SW Madison Ave. Corvallis, OR 97333, in the Madison Avenue Meeting Room. It will also be livestreamed on GoToWebinar. You can register to watch at GoToWebinar

If you are unable to attend, a recording of the session will be made available on the City website.
