More Holiday Travel ‘Fun’

If you’re already where you want to be for Thanksgiving, then you’d be well warned to stay there. Not only has holiday travel gone back to pre-pandemic levels, but all Transportation Security Administration employees are required to be vaccinated by Monday, Nov. 22.

Up to 89% of Americans are saying that they plan to travel for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years. It’s understandable that many have missed seeing friends and family over the nearly two years of pandemic. However, many are worried about this newest bump of TSA agents possibly being short staffed.

With guns being discharged in Atlanta, Georgia, and Southwest Airlines having had significant issues with cancelled flights quite recently, headaches might be in supply for those taking a flight. So we have advice.

Be aware that you will need to arrive at least two hours before your flight for domestic flights.

Come equipped with face masks, because that’s still a thing.

And please, be kind to all of the airport employees and flight staff.

And perhaps these final words will make you feel better about your plane plans: In October, 60% of TSA agents were vaccinated; by Nov. 20, 90% were vaccinated. If there are not enough TSA agents due to the vaccine requirement, some will be brought in to assist busier airports.
