The Benton County Historical Society invites Oregon visual artists to submit work for a juried art exhibition called “#ImagineTheFuture.” Artist entries must be submitted by Friday, Nov. 19, to be considered.
The exhibit is inspired by the Imagine the Future movement to inspire radical change for a more positive future. The movement is meant to motivate us all to “paint a picture of the future we need — to really envision it — and delineate the critical steps necessary to get there.”
This fall, the “What Will Nature Do?” art exhibit is being featured at The Corvallis Arts Center, calling on artists to spread positive ideas of the environment by focusing on nature’s ability to adapt. This exhibit was initiated and curated by OSU climate scientist and artist Dr. Dominique Bachelet.
Building off of this idea, Bachelet proposed the “#ImagineTheFuture” exhibit. Artists are encouraged to focus on any theme that is relevant to them — from the environment, to family, to social justice and everything in between.
The exhibition will be held at the Benton County Museum in Philomath, and will run from Jan. 28 to March 5, 2022. More details on how to submit artwork can be found here.
