Corvallis School District Announces New Communications Coordinator

On Aug. 30, the Corvallis School District Superintendent, Ryan Noss, introduced Kelly Locey as the new Communications Coordinator for the district starting Sept. 20. Locey is taking over the position from her predecessor, Brenda Downum, who has held the job since 2013. According to Noss’ announcement, Downdum has left to pursue other opportunities.   

Locey has spent the last year working as a Comms Coordinator for the Benton County Health Department. Before that, she worked for ten years as the Adolescent Health Promotion Coordinator. During her time working with the County Health Department, Locey managed websites and social media for the Communities Division, Health Department, and the Benton County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center.  

Education-wise, Locey holds a BS in Health and Physical Education from Western Oregon University and a Master’s in Public Health from OSU.
