For those interested in live music with a 50s and 60s rock-n-roll sound, you’re in for a treat. On August 12, the Corvallis Community Center is hosting the band Daddy Rabbit, the second in its Summer Concert Series.
Daddy Rabbit is a Eugene-based band, formed in 2013 by Robert Jacobs, that plays mostly covers of early rock-n-roll, rockabilly, honky-tonk, and blues music. They have a few original songs as well, all in the same style as their covers.
The band is led by Jacobs, their guitarist and vocalist, with Marty Garber on bass and Steve Wright on the drums.
They released their first CD in 2015, titled “Shake Like a Tree.” The album consists of sixteen original songs written by Jacobs and arranged by Wright and Garber. It’s available on several streaming platforms like Spotify as well as through Skips CD World in Eugene.
The concert starts at 6:00 p.m. in the park next to the C3 building and is free of charge.
