Bus Passenger Limits Gone, Masks Stay On

In December of 2020, Gov. Kate Brown passed an executive order stating that all people must wear masks to ride mass public transit. That ruling remains true on Corvallis public transit, but currently, the number of passengers on buses are no longer limited to 14 per bus.

As a result of Brown’s latest ruling, there will be no more passenger capacity limits on public transport. This news comes as Benton County’s new COVID-19 cases have been dropping since May. However, the Corvallis Transit System stresses that face masks remain mandatory for the time being.

Anyone with a disability which prevents them from wearing a facial covering on public transit may call Benton Area Transit’s eligibility hotline at 541-766-6318 for information about applying for alternative transportation services.
