COVID-19 may have impacted the way customers and vendors interact, but it has not dampened the spirit of the Corvallis Southtown Farm Stand and Market.
Every Tuesday from May to October, it is bustling with local farmers and friendly neighbors. It offers a variety of products: artwork, gluten free and vegan food, and vegetables from large and small farms alike. Every vendor seems to love what they do, and they find much joy in sharing their passions with the world.
It functions a bit differently now due to COVID-19, observing the guidelines from the Oregon Farmers Market Association and Gov. Kate Brown. They no longer have live music and there are appointed safety officials to make sure everyone is wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing. However, nothing can mask the vendors’ smile.
Cheryl Good, one of the managers, says that she has noticed new faces, some of which are even becoming regular. She theorized that the pandemic may have sparked an interest regarding local fresh food.
The market is located at 1470 SE Alexander Ave.
