Local Podcast Roundup, Part Deux

Podcasts have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment due to their content, accessibility, and ability to defeat boredom while performing mundane tasks. Support our community podcasters with this new list of lively, loveable, and local podcasts.

Corvallis is known to be a hub of education and knowledge, with Oregon State University at the center of it all. Here are a few educational podcasts to advance your knowledge about various topics.

Inspiration Dissemination

Courtesy of Oregon State, Inspiration Dissemination brings audiences inspiring stories from OSU’s graduate students. Every week, a new grad student is invited on the show to share stories about their life and research. According to the Inspiration Dissemination blog, “By presenting these stories, we can present the diverse, human element of graduate research that is often hidden from the public view.”

Every Sunday at 7 p.m., listeners can tune in to the show on KBVR Corvallis, 88.7FM, or listen to the podcast whenever, which is featured on Orange Media Network for free or on Apple Podcasts. Find more information on their Facebook Page, Inspiration Dissemination or on Twitter, @kbvrID.

Crazy Town

The Crazy Town podcast, produced by Corvallis think tank, the Post Carbon Institute, features hosts Asher, Rob, and Jason – three Corvallisites who, use “humor and in-depth analysis … [to] safeguard their sanity while probing crazy-making topics like climate change, overshoot, runaway capitalism, and why we’re all deluding ourselves.”

With episode topics ranging from global trade to raising kids in the age of climate change, Crazy Town is not only entertaining but informational.

You can listen for free on the Post Carbon Institute website, Apple Podcasts, Player FM, and Stitcher. Find more info on their Facebook Page, Crazy Town Podcast

From Tangent residents, this podcast touches on almost everything as the hosts go on tangents (ha, get it?) about dating, menopause, C-pap machines, cults, and even condom snorting.
