The Benton County Board of Commissioners invites the public to meet the finalists for the Health Department Director position at a virtual forum on August 6 – see below to reserve your seat.
Each candidate will give a short presentation, followed by a moderated Q&A session with GoToWebinar attendees. At the conclusion, participants will have the opportunity to complete a feedback form that will be shared with the hiring committee prior to their selection being made.
The position was vacated in January, 2020 – with Danielle Brown and Charlie Fautin serving as interim directors.
The Candidates:
Liane Jollon is the Executive Director of San Juan Basin Public Health, the public and environmental health agency for Archuleta and La Plata counties in southwest Colorado. Jollon began at San Juan Basin Public Health in the Family Planning Clinic in 2010, became Health Services Division Director in 2012 and entered her current role as Executive Director in 2013.
Jollon earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology at Columbia University.
Paula Mandel is the Public Health Deputy Director of the Pima County Health Department in Tucson, Arizona. After serving in numerous nursing and leadership roles in Indiana county government and hospital systems, Mandel joined the Pima County Health Department in 2011. Her experience with Pima County Health Department includes prior roles as the Division Manager of Community Health Services and Division Manager of Public Health Nursing.
Mandel earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana.
Lindsay Rodgers is the Associate Commissioner of Health and Developmental Services at the Health and Human Services Commission in Austin, Texas. Rogers has served in leadership roles at the state of Texas since 2006, overseeing the administration of obesity prevention, SNAP, WIC, developmental diversity, safety net health programs, and other public health and developmental programs serving Texans in need.
Rogers earned a Master of Arts in Health Education/Health Promotion and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Texas, Austin. Rogers is a licensed dietician and registered dietitian nutritionist.
