While Benton County’s COVID-19 case numbers remain low, public health officials continue to urge community members to wear face coverings to prevent the spread of the virus. Consequently, there are a number of ways in which local businesses and community members can receive free masks throughout the county.
Benton County Emergency Management and the Corvallis-Benton County Economic Development Office have a supply of disposable face coverings to distribute to local businesses of 50 employees or less, according to the City of Corvallis website. Face coverings will be delivered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Saturday: Free Mask Distribution Event
Benton County will also host a face covering distribution event for Corvallis community members on Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Distribution locations include Santiam Christian School, Crossroads Christian Fellowship, the Corvallis Farmers‘ Market, South Gate Plaza, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Harrison, Fire Station 201, Fire Station 202, Fire Station 203, and the North Albany Community Church.
Other Local Mask Resources
Handmade, reusable masks can also be obtained from the Corvallis Sewing Brigade, a volunteer-run organization that provides fabric face coverings on a sliding scale.
