Every year, we anticipate the Benton County Fair & Rodeo line-up announcement – this year focuses on tribute bands.
There are eight performances slated between July 29 and Aug. 1 for the 2020 Pioneer Telephone Main Stage Entertainment. There will be a total of two performances per day, the first beginning at 7 p.m. and the second at 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 29: The Fat Bottomed Girls, a female-fronted rock band, will open the first night by singing hit songs from Queen, Heart, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and other Queens of Rock. Their performance will be followed by The Springsteen Experience: A Tribute to the Boss, a theatrical production that will recreate the appeal of an authentic Springsteen concert, including features like vintage equipment and stage sets.
Thursday, July 30: The second night will begin with a performance by Danish country singer Jessica Lynne. Lynne grew up in Denmark but moved to the U.S in 2010, where her country music career took off. The night will end off with a performance from Canaan Smith, who earned his first Top 10 hit as a songwriter with Love and Theft’s “Runaway.”
Friday, July 31: Catherine Loyer & Strawberry Roan will open the third night by playing “rockin’ and heartfelt” country music—ranging from modern to classic hits. They will be followed by the Georgia singer, songwriter, rapper and musician Colt Ford, who is known for his hit song, “Declaration of Independence.” Ford has sold over 3 million albums and attracted millions of followers to his social media accounts.
Saturday, Aug. 1— “A British Invasion”: The final night will begin with a performance from Yesterday: The Beatles Tribute, who were voted the #1 tribute act in Las Vegas by the Fremont Street Experience. They are known for transporting viewers to an “era of magical innocence.”
The eighth and final performance will be Remember when Rock was Young: The Elton John Tribute. Craig A. Meyer—known as the best Elton John tribute artist and for producing shows that captivate audiences—will celebrate the famous pianist and singer.
Performances will be free to attend with paid admission, and seats are first come, first serve. Visit www.bentoncountyfair.net or call 541-766-6521 for more information.
