Casey, 21, was studying kinesiology, and is survived by her family from Happy Valley, Oregon.
The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office reported that Casey was at the Neahkahnie Mountain viewpoint off Highway 101 when she slipped and fell. Deputies explained she was with her boyfriend, and had been taking pictures over the retaining wall when she lost her balance and fell off the steep edge. Casey would have fallen into the ocean, but landed on a tree instead. A rope team was required to recover Casey.
Her mother told FOX 12 reporters that she had graduated Clackamas High, and had sung in the choir at the school. She told reporters that the beach was her daughter’s favorite place.
