Premium bus service BoltBus has created a new line connecting Corvallis and Salem with Portland. The company began operations on the West Coast in 2012, with service between Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, BC. In 2013 that route was extended to include Eugene and Albany.
The new bus service commenced on October 25, stopping at the Downtown Transit Center in Corvallis and the Greyhound stop in Salem. Currently, the bus only runs on Fridays and Sundays, but BoltBus has expressed interest in further expanding service in the future.
BoltBus advertises premium features such as free standard Wi-Fi, power outlets, leather seats and extra legroom.
When speaking with Eugene’s KMTR, BoltBus General Manager David Hall said that “Adding these two additional markets will help service a multitude of customers, including students who need all the options they can get when it comes to transportation … [w]e are excited to see how these new connections will positively impact the communities we serve.”
