On November 10, 4 Spirits Distillery will be hosting the first ever Corvallis Spirits Festival. The event will feature products from 12 Oregonian craft distilleries, a pie eating contest, and live music. The proceeds will be donated to Samaritan Veterans Outreach, OSU-Student Veterans Association, Vets Helping Vets HQ and the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch.
All tastings are included with the purchase of a ticket. And, 4 Spirits Director of Operations Sarah Wayt promises that “each table will have its own unique spirits, and that attendess can immerse themselves and meet the makers.” Local wine and beer will also be available, as well as fare from local food trucks and 4 Spirits’ kitchen.
Another highlight is the “Battle of the Bosses,” beginning at 3:30: an old-fashioned pie eating contest between the city managers of Corvallis, Albany, Philomath, Monroe and Adair Village. The stakes, according to the distillery’s Facebook page, are pie, pride, waistlines, and a 1st place medal. According to Wayt “The city managers have indicated that they are currently ‘in training’ for this event.” Raffle tickets will be available for attendees to place bets on their favored contestants.
Both Wayt and 4 Spirits founder Dawson Officer expressed their excitement for the event. “It’s like hosting a Thanksgiving party,” says Officer, “It’s cool to have people come over and be a good host.”
