2019 Eco-Film Festival: The Kingdom: The Human Element

Odd Fellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. 6:30 p.m. $30-$40.

The Eco-Film Festival is always a lot of fun, and enlightening at that. This year the film’s will be looking at our furry fungi friends (only they’re not furry), as well as climate change, and even the demilitarization of Costa Rica. Each film will end with an expert panel, which in turn will be followed by a raffle with prizes. Tasty things will be provided by New Morning Bakery and Oregon Trail Brewery. But what about the popcorn? There’ll be that too. Entry fee is a suggestion donation, but you should do it, as the proceeds going to the Odd Fellows Elevator Accessibility Fund. Comedy of Errors

The classic Shakespearean farce, The Comedy of Errors, is set in Director Sarah Sheldrick’s vision: Seattle’s Pike Place Market, 1999. As per the show summary, “The story starts as a father, a new immigrant to the city, is arrested and must plead his case to the authorities. He has long been separated from his children and only wishes to find out if they live in the city. Meanwhile, two other new immigrants sneak into the city unnoticed, but they, too, run into problems.” Turns out they’ve got siblings in town with identical identities! Visit, for more info. Sip & Spell: A Spelling Bee for Adults

What’s better than a spelling bee? One with adults and some drinking! It’s fifth year out of the gate, the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library proudly hosts this awesome event. If you’re 18 and up you’re welcome to come chill and show off your skills. Block 15 and 2 Towns Ciderhouse will be on call, as well as tasty morsels from Delicias Valley Cafe. Corvallis Science Pub- Those Pesky Flu Germs

Science Pub, this time with more germs! Well, not really. But that’s the topic, and will be brilliantly laid out for you by guest speaker Benjamin Dalziel, an assistant professor at the Oregon State University College of Science. Dalziel and others have been tracking people in combination to watching the weather in order to better understand how flu epidemics work. This research is really awesome, and will be a major player in the city planning of the future. You’re really not going to want to miss this one, and registration is required!Visit to get that taken care of lickity split.

It’s Not You, It’s Me, The Second City

Tis’ the season for laughing at love, and The Second City has been doing it for a long time.
