Corvallis Ranked Best College Town in Oregon, Scores Twelfth Nationally

According to the website reviews.org, Corvallis is the best college town in Oregon, and twelfth best in the nation.

Tyler Abbott, author of the study, wrote, “Using data from the United States Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, we analyzed overall population, student population, rental costs, college education rates, transportation access, unemployment rates, and bar availability.” Abbot also said he tried to keep the list to towns with less than 250,000 residents.

Of five categories, Corvallis only made the top 10 in two: a second place in for city access, and a third place ranking for the most college educated population. We did not rate near as well for student employment, cost of living, or night life.

Nationally, University of Iowa home Iowa City ranked first, and Cornell’s Ithaca ranked second.
