Corvallis 4th Safest City in Oregon

Corvallis is the fourth safest city in Oregon according to an annual report from home security company, SafeWise

Nationally, the violent crime rate is 4.49 incidents per 1,000 people. but here in Oregon the average is 1.43 incidents per 1,000 people.

However, safety does not mean entirely crime free, property crime is also a thing. In this regard, Oregon still stacks up well nationally, with a property crime rate of 15.89 incidents per 1,000 people, or nearly half the national rate of 27.11 per 1,000 people, according to SafeWise. However, Eugene does have 37.29 property crimes per 1,000 people. Coos Bay has the highest property crime rate, scoring 76.10 per 1,000 residents.

SafeWise says the rankings are based on 2017 Uniform Crime Reporting statistics compiled by the FBI.
