While locals can be found “walking the CAW” each month year ‘round, it’s not the only art walk in the game. An annual event coming this Sunday, the Southtown Art Walk is a bird of a different feather, with a large number of local artists (over 50!) opening their homes and studios to the public. Featuring 17 locations within just a few blocks, you can expect everything from prints to paintings, journals to pins, sculpture, wooden toys, cards, jewelry, honey, bread, soaps, knitted items… basically everything under the sun that can be described as fine art or artisan craft.
Okay, so maybe not everything, but definitely close to it.
In its seventh year now, the Southtown Art Walk has carved itself out a place in Corvallis culture, and is always among the best fun to be had during the holiday season. In fact, the only real problem is that it’s just open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Six hours doesn’t seem like nearly enough time to see it all, meet your neighbors, and enjoy a brisk walk and some good conversation – not to mention pick up some great locally-made gifts for your more discerning loved ones.
