Contact Improv Jam.
Downtown Dance, 223 NW 2nd St., Corvallis. 4-6 p.m. Suggested donation $10.
If you’re into improvisation in dance, this is your bag. Downtown Dance has been a Corvallis staple for quite some time, and they invite you to join in and “feel the play of gravity, support, weight, counterbalance, and downright playfulness in solo, duet, or large group improvisation.” I dunno about you, but that sounds pretty good. Unfortunately I’ve been banned from dancing in six states, but that shouldn’t stop you!
Blues Jam
Calapooia Brewing Company, 140 Hill St. NE, Albany. 4-6 p.m. Sundays. Free.
Sometimes you just need a little blues jam and beer. Calapooia has your back, and that’s a fact, Jack. And I don’t know how to make anything else rhyme there. For info, visit: calapooiabrewing.com/blog/
Tuesday, September 18
Bike Polo
Lincoln Tennis Courts, SE Alexander & SE Debord. 6-10 p.m.
All the fun of horse polo, but without the threat of being eaten by a horse! Seriously, bike polo looks like amazing fun and it happens every Tuesday. You should check it out. For info, visit: https://www.facebook.com/
Wednesday, September 19
Wednesdays at the Whiteside: ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN.
The Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. 7 p.m. $5 ($6.17 w/service fee).
Ever heard of Woodward and Bernstein? Maybe that early 70s robbery of the DNC headquarters? Uh, Watergate? Seems strangely familiar, eh? This is a hell of a movie that seems more and more pertinent every day. Grab yourself a pair of tickets by visiting https://www.brownpapertickets.

Into poetry but having trouble finding a home for your work here in Corvallis? Your worries are over. The Dog’s third thursday open mic event is the perfect punctuation to the arts walk. Bring your work, read, write, listen, hang out. The Downward Dog is your oyster. Really wonderful, supportive place to be! For more info visit, https://www.facebook.com/
Grant Farm
Bombs Away Café, 2527 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 9 p.m. Free.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Grant Farm (www.grantfarm.net) refers to themselves as “Cosmic Americana,” and who am I to argue? Pretty far outside of my own musical wheelhouse, I still really enjoyed the listen and think this will be a show everyone can dig on. For more info visit, https://www.facebook.com/
