You’re no Cinderella but that doesn’t mean you can’t ride around in a giant pumpkin for a day.
At the totally free West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta festival numerous people do just that.
The award-winning event will be in its 14th year and consists of people dressing up in kooky costumes and racing across a lake in giant pumpkins. These pumpkins are provided by the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers and their members year after year. To learn more about them check out their website here: http://www.pgvg.org/ .
People come to watch and take part in the event from all over the United States and Canada and it’s a great event for the whole family. Besides the main event there will be a 5K Regatta Run, The Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers Terminator weigh-off, a kids costume contest, pumpkin pie eating contest, entertainers, and lots of vendors and other activities to check out.
Admission to the festival is free and food and souvenirs are available for purchase onsite. The event will take place Saturday October 21, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Tualatin Lake of the Commons: 8325 SW Nyberg St, Tualatin.
