Get your walking shoes on, and get ready to head down to the southside of town, for the 2017 South Town Art Walk, on Sunday, December 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Over 30 artists, crafters, performers, and musicians are set to participate in the Art Walk, spanning 17 studios, including one yurt, all located in South Corvallis. Here’s a look at some of what’s in store…

New this year, Sunnyside Herb School students and alumni will be selling their herbal concoctions, as well as henna tats and tea.

Maureen Frank, The Mandala Lady, creates hypnotizing mandala artworks. Visit her studio for mandala coloring books, chakra stone sets, and original mandala art, at 1670 SE Bethel St . Take a look now, online at

Recent Oregon State University graduate and esteemed local artist, Caroline Moses, also joins the walk this year.  Moses is known locally for her interactive mosaic mural, “Bessie’s Blue,” of the endangered fender’s blue butterfly, on Monroe Ave. She will be opening her studio and showing her mosaic-style, self-described “painterly sculptures,” which transform as the viewer moves around them. You can check them out on Sunday, at 1900 SE Bethel St, and on her website, at

2D and 3D artwork and gifts will be available, accompanied by music and performances throughout the walk. Groove with the jazz and classical guitar stylings of Phil Kaufmann, while sipping on some cider at 1906 SE Crystal Circle.

Carol Soth and Chris Neely will be presenting storytelling performances titled “Juicy Winter Stew: Stories to Warm the Bones.” The 45 minute performances will happen at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., and are appropriate for ages 6 to 106 . $10 for adults and $5 for kids at 665 SE Atwood Ave.
