On Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9 a.m., Heart of the Valley Runners will present the 2014 edition of Run for Your Life to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Program at OSU. Registration is now open for the four-mile easy trail run/walk, the two-mile fun run, and the 100-yard dash for kids 10 and under. There’s also the option to walk or roll on an accessible paved path at the event, held in Willamette Park in Corvallis.
The goal of the run is to raise awareness about MS, which afflicts more than 2.3 million people worldwide. The proceeds from the event will support the multiple sclerosis exercise program offered by OSU’s college of Public Health and Human Sciences. This program has been providing free physical activity instruction for people with multiple sclerosis for 15 years.
The cost for the event is $15 for adults and $5 for youth. The 100-yard dash for children is free, although donations will be accepted. Sponsors for the event include Heresco Chiropractic, Vertebrata Chiropractic, PT Northwest, Samaritan Health Services, Coffee Culture, Corvallis Clinic, Pride Printing, Corvallis Radiology, dentist Ryan Sparks and Timberhill Athletic Club.
