The art of spoken word from the mouths of talented poets and featured artists alike known as Festival Poetics will make its return to the Corvallis Arts Center this Friday and Saturday. The city’s biggest monthly open mic poetry event, which comes on the heels of National Poetry Month in April and during Oregon State University’s Moms Weekend, will showcase poets Alexander Dang, Ann Staley, the Poetics All-Stars with Chris Gray, Greg Gerding and University Hell Press and many more. Musical guests Different Feeder, The Van Meyers, Jerome Kessinger and Gabriel Surley and Unstable Atmospheres are also slated to appear for this two-day poetry slam.
Poetics kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. Tickets will be $6 donation for a half show and $10 for two days. Limited advance tickets may be available by emailing nwpoetics@gmail.com for more details.
