Just before Oregon State students can officially say hello to summer, the MUPC DAM JAM on Saturday, May 31 will give them one more reason to stick around a little longer. The day after a new Battle of the Bands champion(s) is crowned, singer/song writer/producer and “Cooler Than Me” artist Mike Posner will take the stage at the Memorial Union quad as the headlining act.
The Battle of the Bands winner will get an opportunity to serve as the opener for the Michigan native and former Duke Blue Devil. Posner, who has a couple hit singles from his 2010 debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff, was reportedly the student council’s top choice to come and perform on campus. He’s slated to be on stage for just over an hour, so everyone can get a real chance to see what the Posner hype is all about. He may even sing songs from his next album Pages, which is due to be released later this year.
Tickets are free for students and $10 for non-students. They are available for sale now at the MU 103. For more information, call the MUPC office at 541-737-6872.
