Kenny Davidson Running for Corvallis Ward 5 City Council

Kenny Davidson of Corvallis has announced his plan to run for a seat on the city council representing Ward 5. Davidson, who is currently a homemaker, gardener and community volunteer, ran for the same seat in 2012.

“The last two years has seen a city council overturning recommendations of the volunteer citizen commissions and seeming to ignore public sentiment,” Davidson says in his press release.

“My priorities are to listen to the public and truly consider their testimony, and maintain and improve community livability by supporting open spaces, the Parks and Recreation Department, and our superb library system.  I would like to build partnerships between local businesses and the OSU internship program, address housing issues, and continue to reach out to our student population to involve them in their community,” it goes on to say.

Davidson is a native Oregonian and long time mid-Willamette Valley resident, who was a twelve-year veteran of the United States Army. His community service work includes the dVD Graand Kinectic Sculpture Challenge Planning Committee. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Friends of Corvallis Parks & Recreation. He is a 2013 graduate of the Corvallis Police Department’s Cops & Robbers Program, as well as a former member of the Albany Planning Commission and a former Chair of the Linn County Democrats.
