Attention, Corvallisites: Want an excuse to wear a costume, dance, party, and celebrate our favorite planet in the process? If you said yes, then the Earth Ball Masquerade Party and Benefit Concert at Squirrel’s Tavern is the hot spot on Saturday, April 19. To follow up last year’s epic event where an alligator made a guest appearance, Portland-based Americana Bluegrass standouts, the Fire Weeds, will provide the tunes and spectacular light show, while Squirrel’s will clear the dance floor so masqueraders can get their groove on. Guests can win a weekend getaway and many other raffle prizes courtesy of Corvallis merchants.
Pink Caterpillar Photography will offer guests a photo booth and face painting so folks can show off their wild side and capture memories in what is sure to be an unforgettable evening. Pacific Power will bring Blue Sky, its renewable energy program, to offset the energy used at the event. Proceeds will benefit the Corvallis Environmental Center’s programs, including the Avery House Center, the Edible Corvallis Initiative, and Energize Corvallis.
The Earth Ball Masquerade Party is on Saturday, April 19 from 8 p.m. to midnight at Squirrel’s Tavern, 100 SW 2nd Street; it is a 21-and-over event. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. To get tickets in advance, visit www.corvallisenvironmentalcenter.org/earthball/.
