Murrica!!! Dance Party at Cloud & Kelly’s Public House, 126 SW 1st Street. With the Red, White and Blues Festival happening just up the street, Cloud & Kelly’s will close off the block for an all day outdoor dance party, which will feature beer, great food and beats by DJs from One Wub. This is a free all ages event starting at 2 p.m. and lasting until 11 p.m. Stick around for the fireworks.
Saturday, July 5
Philomath Classic Car Show. Philomath City Park, Applegate St. & S 23rd St. This Saturday local hot rod and motorcycle enthusiasts can feast their eyes on a serious collection of classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles dating from 1900 to 1984 during this the annual competition (in its 17th year). Registration starts at 7 a.m., and spectators are welcomed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes food, music, a variety of vendor booths, and a 50/50 raffle drawing.
Tuesday, July 8
Corvallis Advocate Community Movie Night at the Darkside Cinema, 215 SW 4th Street. Next Tuesday at 7 p.m. the Corvallis Advocate and Darkside will join forces to treat movie fans to a night of classic cinema with the action-adventure The Dangerous Game (1932). This screening will kick off an ongoing weekly film series, which is free to attend and appropriate for all ages. Small donations are welcomed and encouraged.
Thursday, July 10
Cuban Lunch. 101 NW 23rd St., Corvallis. Guests will find great food, a traditional Cuban meal of beans, rice and ropa vieja, in addition to entertainment and inspiration at this lunch benefit, which will celebrate the efforts of the Mike Beilstein and the Pastors for Peace 25th Cuban aid caravan. This will mark Beilstein’s ninth journey to Cuba. The program will discuss successes and challenges of Cuban healthcare, education, economics and agriculture; updates on the struggle for normalization of relations, and freedom to travel. The lunch is free to attend, though donations will be encouraged with all proceeds going to the Cuban aid caravan.
