Community Art-A-Thon Led by OSU’s Steven Christian

artscenterWhat do you get when you mix charity, an OSU Beaver, artistic talent and community support? The Art-A-Thon.

Steven Christian (safety #29), organizer and humanitarian, will be working on a mural overnight on November 8th with artists and friends with a special reception on November 9th beginning at 5pm. According to Christian, athletics have kept him persistent and determined, as well as instilled the value of teamwork and focusing on goals. No doubt his passion for creating the Art-A-Thon follows this same enthusiasm.

Hosted at Reser Stadium, the event will contain murals created by Christian, The Arts Center, and students in The Arts Center’s At-Risk Youth Arts Education program. The work will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Jackson Street Youth shelter.

Additionally, the community is invited to participate in painting The Art Center’s mural during a variety of times at their 700 SW Madison Avenue location: November 2nd, 11am-3pm, November 6th, 2pm-5pm, and November 7th, 3pm-5pm. There is no fee to join in on the fun and The Art Center is graciously supplying paint and brushes.
