Love them or hate them, online courses are here to stay. With OSU’s Ecampus expanding annually, new ideas for working within existing systems as well as creating new systems altogether are of the utmost importance. At this upcoming Corvallis City Club Meeting, online course veteran and OSU biochemistry instructor Kevin Ahern will discuss related teaching experience as well as attempt to “demystify the term ‘massive open online course (MOOC)’” How do the experiences of classroom teaching and learning compare to that of the e-course? Is e-learning a realistic replacement for established, in-person education?
If you’re interested, head on over to the Les Scwab Gym at the Boys & Girls Club, 1112 NW Circle. Te meeting begins at noon with doors open at 11:30am.
