The Majestic Theatre Presents: The Shanghai Woolies. October 25th 115 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. 7:30 p.m. The Shanghai Woolies play “hot music,” 1920’s and 30’s jazz and pop of Chicago and New York City and hail from Portland, OR. The eight-piece ensemble swims in the romance of Louis Armstrong, the mystery of Duke Ellington, the whimsy of Paul Whiteman, and the swing of Benny Goodman. Give a Hoot! Laughing Planet Cafe. 127 NW 2nd St., Corvallis. October 27th 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Join Chintimini Wildlife Center at Laughing Planet Cafe for a family-friendly wildlife event! The event will be held from 11:00am-5:00pm and will feature live birds of prey, activities for children, a costume contest, and a hands-on artifact exhibit. Laughing Planet will be donating a percentage of the day’s proceeds to the rehabilitation and education efforts of CWC.
Murder Mystery Dinner Party. Withycombe Hall, 2901 SW Campus Way, Corvallis. October 30th 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. Masque & Dagger Theater Fundraiser. A murder has terrorized OSU’s Theatre Department and it’s your job to decide whodunnit. This year’s All Hallow’s Eve event starts with a banquet, and moving through the night with activities and a dance where you get to decide who is the killer before another victim is claimed. Tickets are $7 and will be sold at the door. Various prizes will be awarded to those who figure out the case, for best in costume, and for completing tasks.
