On Saturday, April 13th at 6 p.m., the Corvallis/Albany Sick Town Derby Dames are bringing the pain to the Linn County Fairgrounds in a bout against their close-knit “sister” league out of Eugene, the Emerald City Roller Girls.
In 2008, Church of Sk8in team captain Brick Wallace left the team to found STDD in Corvallis. Brick Wallace is now coaching Sick Town’s S*M*A*S*H Unit, the team which will not only be bouting against skaters who have helped with Sick Town training in the past, but also a former Sick Town skater and fan favorite, power jammer Jala Pain Yo. With skaters like ECRG’s Jala Pain Yo and STDD’s Ill Ninja on the track, it’s bound to be a night of intense action!
Bonus: Get your first taste of local junior derby before the bout, when Sick Town’s junior league, the Candy Stripers, will take each other on in a mini intra-league bout. Come see what the Candy Stripers have been learning in the year since their formation!
There will be a craft table for kids throughout the bout. Tickets are available in Corvallis at Aqua Seafood and Steaks and Uprise Skate Shop, in Albany at Abby’s Pizza, and online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, check out http://sicktownderbydames.com.
