Recyclemania is Back at OSU: Help Keep the Winning Streak Alive

If you’re not quite sure what to do with that mountain of empty glass bottles, plastic containers, and aluminum cans left over from your 2012 post-industrial apocalypse stockpile, it’s time to lighten your load. That’s right, 2013’s Recyclemania is already underway here in Corvallis, and with Oregon State University as the three-year standing Civil War champion it’s time to do your part again.

For those of you who don’t know, Recyclemania is a 10-week competition between US colleges to try and reduce their waste by recycling and composting the most material. Categories include: largest amount of recyclables per capita, largest total amount of recyclables, and the largest portion of the total waste stream recycled.

Recycling tip: After reading this newspaper, you can shred the paper and use it to provide a high-quality habitat for your caged pet and then throw the soiled remains in your compost pile.
