Too $hort Performs for Fred Thompson Benefit

Hip-hop artist Too $hort will perform a benefit concert in honor of Oregon State University football player Fred Thompson, who died early 12/7/2011 after collapsing from cardiac arrhythmia.

The concert will take place on Friday March 9th at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 7 p.m. and includes opening acts from Cali Kidd, T-Walk, D. Worthy, Lalaboy, Oxymoron, Blaze and Jove, and DJ Cloud N9ne. Too $hort will take the stage and perform at 8 p.m.

After the concert, an after party will be at SubZero,126 SW 4th St., Corvallis. A $5 donation will be collected at the door.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketsoregon.com, Think IT (located on Monroe between Dominoes and Subway), Corvallis Custom (9th Street across from Goodwill) and inside the MU (by the bookstore on the OSU campus).

Advance tickets are $15 and general admission at the door are $20.

The concert was organized by members of Oregon State University sororities and fraternities with all proceeds benefiting the Fred Thompson Five-Star Youth Center, a center for local youth looking to participate in sports in Oakland, CA. Thompson’s mother, Cora Wilcots created the center in her son’s memory.
