Edible Front Yard Garden Tour – August 23

Join us on Thursday, August 23, for a guided walking tour of food-producing front yard gardens!

The two-hour tour will begin at 5:30 pm at 1165 SE Alexander Ave. It will include stops at six additional sites in the neighborhood near Alexander and Crystal Lake Drive. Each host resident will give an overview of their garden — how they transformed the space, selected plants, and overcame challenges. We’ll also observe additional gardens and talk about how each garden is unique.

Tour participants are encouraged to arrive by foot or bicycle, since parking will be limited.

This tour is the second in a series of edible garden tours sponsored by the Food Action Team of the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition. The team hopes to involve more people in the joys and health benefits of edible front yard gardening: self-reliance, regular exercise, fresh air, healthful and delicious food, and a sense of connection to the neighborhood — and to the earth!
