Corvallis’ Own Temporary Artists’ Guild Hosts Fundraiser for LBCC’s Art Department, December 12th

Untitled Lady Burner; ceramic incense burner by Johnny Beaver

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Corvallis’s own Temporary Artists’ Guild will be having a holiday event downtown. Courtesy of Mike at The Drawing Board, we’ll be setting up shop from 3 to 7 p.m. with myriad different, affordable, and local creations, including everything from handcrafted ornaments and incense burners to jewelry, sculpture, paintings, and even a ceramic chess set. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the Linn-Benton Community College’s (LBCC) art department. There will be refreshments available, and it’ll be a great opportunity to drop on by and chat with us!

As a representative of said guild, I can answer the “why” of this event in one fell swoop: many of us have either attended, or still attend, LBCC and have benefited immensely from the opportunity to study under its fantastic staff. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it, and that’s a fact. This is our way of saying thank you, and helping them do what they do best: empower new generations of local art students.
