10th Annual CARDV Run/Walk to Help Stop Domestic Violence

It’s time to register for the 10th annual CARDV Mother’s Day Run/Walk for Safe Families. This family-friendly event will be held Saturday, May 12, and offers courses for all ages and abilities, including a 5K run, a 5K walk, and 1- and 2-mile walks. All courses begin at Second Street and Western Boulevard in downtown Corvallis.

Team and individual participation is encouraged. Registration is $20 per person before May 2, and $25 after that date. Registration forms are also available in Corvallis at Five Star Sports, Timberhill Athletic Club, Wow! Fitness, and Fitness Over 50, in Philomath at Fitness Anytime and in Albany at the Albany Athletic Club. Day-of-race registration opens at 8 a.m. Participants are guaranteed a T-shirt if they register by May 2.

All walkers and runners are eligible for door prizes which will be awarded to the largest team and the team that raises the most “Friend-Raising” (pledge) money. Collecting pledges is optional.

During the event, don’t miss the Family Fun and Safety Fair, featuring fun activities and safety information for kids and their families.

Event proceeds benefit the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence, to sustain its shelter program, advocacy services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, and community education programs. Each year CARDV provides shelter and support services to more than 5,000 adults and children who are fleeing violence in Linn and Benton counties.
