For those of us who are more, shall we say, active drinkers — who are dissatisfied by just sitting on our butts and shooting the sh*t whilst we booze — there are plenty of opportunities to have organized (or delightfully disorganized) fun at local breweries and taprooms. Here’s a shortlist of drinking locales offering yoga, karaoke, tabletop gaming, and tap takeovers.
Pints & Poses
Yoga at breweries is one of the latest niche yogi crazes, and for good reason. Oregonians love yoga almost as much as we love craft beer. For those of us who like to “detox to retox”, there’s plenty of nearby opportunities:
2 Towns Cider
Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 12-1 p.m.. There is a $5 suggested donation for free classes, and participants should bring their own mats. Message them on facebook @2townsciderhouse or call 541-207-3915 for more info.
The following classes are presented by Urban Yoga and Yoga + Beer. Classes are 60 minute, all level flows. This means that for an hour you’ll be linking movement with breath, and everyone from beginners to the Gumby incarnate are welcome. Each class is $15 ($10 for just yoga) and includes your first pint. Bring your own mat and if possible, arrive 5-10 minutes early.
Block 15 Brewery and Taproom
Every other Sunday at 10:15 a.m. at the South Corvallis location. Classes are held outside and space is limited, so try registering in advance.
Second Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. Limited space, advance registration recommended.
The first Tuesday of the month. In a covered location, but bring layers as needed for their outdoor classroom.
For more information on these classes follow Urban Yoga on facebook @urbanyogaor.
Tabletops & Takeovers
When small talk with your friends just won’t cut it — tabletop board games to the rescue! With the resurgence of tabletop gaming, there’s more than Monopoly to play. Save the world from spreading disease! Fight monsters! Get mercilessly teased by friends who haven’t harnessed the power of tabletop gaming!
Every Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m., join local game guru Jim and choose from some provided (or bring your own) tabletop games.
If you’re looking to delve deeper into the world of craft brew, tap takeover nights are a great place to start. Brewery reps set up at choice locations with free swag, prizes, and other offerings. Participants can try a smattering of single brewery beers, many of which aren’t publicly available. Tap in and you might just find your new favorite brew.
5th Street Growlers
5th Street Growlers offers bingo at their Thursday tap takeovers, where players win free items from select breweries. Find out who their featuring next, and find them on Facebook @5thstreetgrowlers
Suds & Suds
Also on Thursdays, beer reps at Suds & Suds dish out handfuls of swag and raffle off prizes a’plenty. Find them on facebook @SudsandSuds
Beer & Beats
Ready to unleash your inner rock star? Corvallis has some prime karaoke joints, which you may or may not regret going to in the morning.
Tom’s Peacock Bar & Grill
Every night at 10 p.m. enjoy townie repeats and random singers, accompanied by bizarre sound effects and introductions from the Peacock’s staple MCs. Find them on facebook @ThePeacockBarGrill
Harrison’s Bar and Grill
Wednesdays through Saturdays at 9:30 p.m., Harrison’s comes alive with dive-bar bravery as patrons belt their hearts out at the mic. Find them on facebook @Harrisonbarandgrill
MIX Asian Bistro

VIP rooms are $68 an hour and can hold up to 20 people. MIX takes reservations for the karaoke rooms on their website: www.mixcorvallis.com. Find them on facebook @mixasianbistro.
