If you have been swamped with school work, busy traveling the globe, or just on a raging bender, you may have missed the CAW on March 15… We will forgive you because everybody makes mistakes from time to time. But even better then our disingenuous forgiveness is this list of creatively stimulating exhibitions still on display. Here are a few of the must-sees that we recommend you check out.
Photographer Julia Bradshaw’s Lockers exhibit will remain at CEI Artworks Gallery until April 16th. Featuring school lockers, among other school related scenes, OSU’s own Bradshaw seeks to spur conversations about the high school experience of one’s past as well as what current and future students experiences will be like. Drop by 408 SW Monroe in Corvallis between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Psychotropic Seas is an exhibit at OSU’s Fairbanks Gallery of Art, co-sponsored by the OSU Marine Studies initiative, focusing on the effects of ocean waters of consciousness. Featuring sculpture, painting, and visual art, this show brings together three unique artists’ works to helps us dive deeply into the topic. While you are there, don’t forget to pop upstairs and see OSU’s Wood Projects Core display as well. These exhibits will run until March 29 and can be visited from 4 to 8 p.m.
Reaching from Roots to Sky is the name of local creator Bluejah Ventra’s exhibit at Pegasus Art Gallery. Ventura’s painting is bold, colorful, and organic. Influences of graffiti, patterning, darkly comic characters come to life on canvas while his sculptures and woodcarvings take on a life of their own. His show will be up for the rest of the month so drop on by 341 SW 2nd St. from 4 to 8 p.m.
